ADULT MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Adult Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain adult Christian education and ministries that promote spiritual growth.

MEMBERS: The Adult Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Adult Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Adult Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. The Chairman or another church member serving on the Adult Ministry Team shall represent the Adult Ministry Team on the Church Leadership Team.

TERMS OF OFFICE: Adult Ministry Team members shall be elected for a term of two (2) years, approximately one-third (1/3) of their members being elected each year. They may be elected for a maximum of three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms. They may be re-elected after being out of office for one (1) year. Prior to being placed on the church ballot or appointed to complete a term, all candidates shall have their signed and completed Application for Position of Ministry reviewed by the Lead Pastor or his designee.

TEAM OFFICES: The Adult Ministry Team shall select their own chairman and secretary. They shall also appoint one (1) team member to monitor ministry team expenses and upcoming budget expenditures so that the chairman may provide this information to the Church Leadership Team in order to ensure adequate cash flow. They shall report any team vacancies to the Nominating Committee as soon as they occur.

BUDGET: The Adult Ministry Team shall prepare and submit a proposed Adult Ministry budget for the following year to the Finance Ministry Team by September 30.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT: Adult Ministry Team members shall develop adult ministry-related policies and procedures and submit for approval as needed. They shall perform an annual review of their Ministry Team Guidelines and the Policy and Procedure Manual section related to their team. They shall recommend any changes to the Elder Board by October 31.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Adult Ministry Team Chairman shall provide a report of team actions and expenditures at the monthly meeting of the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop, administer and coordinate a well-rounded ministry that may include adult Sunday School,
men’s and women’s Bible studies and small groups

2. Review and propose curriculum ensuring that all material used is Biblical and in agreement with the
Statement of Faith of this church

3. Oversee Men’s, Women’s, Young Adult and Senior Adult Ministries

4. Coordinate with Pastoral Staff and the Elder Board to develop an ongoing program for the recruitment
and training of adult ministry leaders

5. Develop a process for the maintenance of current material and acquisition of new material for the
church library

CARE MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Care Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain a ministry of caring for various life needs of the congregation.

MEMBERS: The Care Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Care Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Care Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate a visitation ministry to the congregation in homes, hospitals, nursing homes, extended
living facilities, prisons and other environments in cooperation with the Elders and pastors

2. Provide a bereavement ministry to grieving individuals and families within the church

3. Provide for care packages or baskets to military servicemen, college students, and shut-ins when
appropriate

4. Coordinate and staff the prayer chain

5. Administer a benevolence fund for needy families in the church and community

6. Coordinate care for individuals and families having special needs

7. Identify newcomers and ensure that they are welcomed, given information about the church, and given
assistance to assimilate into the church.

8. Coordinate Pastor Appreciation opportunities

9. Provide for Christmas gift(s) to our sister church in Krasnoselya, Ukraine

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Children’s Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain Christian education for children from birth through grade six.

MEMBERS: The Children’s Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Children’s Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop, administer and coordinate a well-rounded ministry that may include Sunday School, KidsClub, Children’s Church, Toddler Church, Nursery, Vacation Bible School, children’s music ministry,camp ministry and Christmas program

2. Encourage children toward a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and his church.

3. Provide a ministry that is biblically sound and effective for each age group

4. Review and propose curriculum ensuring that all material used is Biblical and in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this church

5. Recruit leaders to serve in each area of ministry

6. Provide training for all children’s leaders enabling them to serve effectively

7. Provide adequate supplies and equipment necessary for various children’s ministries and programs.

8. Maintain accurate attendance and financial records for major children’s events

9. Provide Nursery staffing during regularly scheduled church functions

FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Fellowship Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain the fellowship, service and hospitality needs associated with activities of the church.

MEMBERS: The Fellowship Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Fellowship Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Fellowship Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. The Chairman or another church member serving on the Fellowship Ministry Team shall represent the Fellowship Ministry Team on the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan and coordinate church social events

2. Organize serving groups

3. Make provision for general care and stocking of the kitchen

4. Coordinate all aspects of meal service for special events taking place at the church to include room set-up, meal preparation, meal service and clean-up

5. Arrange for housing and meals for speakers, guests and groups when needed

6. Make provision for Sunday morning coffee

FINANCE MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Finance Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee all financial matters in accordance with the church budget and financial decisions made by the membership and/or the Church Leadership Team.

MEMBERS: The Finance Ministry Team shall consist of four (4) elected church members: the Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Financial Secretary. The Treasurer shall serve as chairman and representative to the Church Leadership Team.

TERMS OF OFFICE: Finance Ministry Team members shall be elected for a term of two (2) years, They may be elected for a maximum of three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms. They may be re-elected after being out of office for one (1) year. Prior to being placed on the church ballot or appointed to complete a term, all candidates shall have their signed and completed Application for Position of Ministry reviewed by the Lead Pastor or his designee.

TEAM OFFICES: The Treasurer shall serve as chairman and representative to the Church Leadership Team. The Finance Ministry Team shall report any team vacancies to the Nominating Committee as soon as they occur.

BUDGET: The Finance Ministry Team shall prepare and submit a proposed Finance Ministry budget for the following year to the Church Leadership Team by September 30.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT: Finance Ministry Team members shall develop finance ministry-related policies and procedures and submit for approval as needed. They shall perform an annual review of their Ministry Team Guidelines and the Policy and Procedure Manual section related to their team. They shall recommend any changes to the Elder Board by October 31.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Treasurer shall provide a report of team actions and expenditures at the monthly meeting of the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Receive, record and count all tithes, offerings and gifts to the church and deposit these funds in appropriate church bank accounts.

2. Administer and disburse funds in a timely matter and in accordance with the church budget or as otherwise directed by the church membership and/or the Church Leadership Team.

3. Keep individual and confidential records for all monetary gifts and provide this information to each contributor annually or upon request.

4. Administer and manage memorials, gifts, and special contributions, and make recommendation to the Church Leadership Team for the use of undesignated funds.

5. Make appropriate responses to IRS requirements or acknowledgements in the case of wills, estates, instruments and devices.

6. Adhere to accepted banking practices and administer investments as needed.

7. Initiate and/or coordinate the securing of funds through loans and other means.

8. Provide monthly reports of all church financial accounts to the Church Leadership Team and provide annual reports of all church financial accounts to the church membership.

9. Submit all church financial records to the Audit Committee for annual audits

10. Prepare the proposed annual church budget and present this to the Church Leadership Team for approval or revision.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Information Technology Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement, and maintain all information technology equipment, software, telephone systems, and electronic equipment owned by the church. They shall also be responsible to provide support for EBC Ministry Teams, Committees, and special events including weddings and funerals.

MEMBERS: The Information Technology Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities and shall have interest and expertise in the area of information technology. The Information Technology Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Information Technology Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. The Chairman or another church member serving on the Information Technology Ministry Team shall represent the Information Technology Ministry Team on the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain all church computers, sound systems, projectors, website, and the Instant Alert system

2. Recruit and train individuals to properly operate the sound system

3. Recruit and train individuals to properly operate the presentation computer and projectors

4. Recruit and train individuals to properly operate and maintain the church’s website

5. Recruit and train individuals to properly operate the Instant Alert system

6. Ensure that weekly messages are recorded, duplicated, and put on the church website

7. Coordinate the scheduling of individuals to operate the sounds system and presentation computer

8. Ensure that guidelines for backing up information from church computers are established and that guidelines are consistently followed and updated when needed

9. Make recommendations regarding needs for changes, upgrades, maintenance, and procurement of Information Technology equipment and software.


10. Provide recommendations regarding use of appropriate software for all church computers

MISSIONS MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Missions Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain all missions-related ministry activities of the church.

MEMBERS: The Missions Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Missions Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee the Ukraine sister church relationship.

2. Lead in the nurture and care of missionaries supported by this church.

3. Educate, inform and challenge the congregation about the missions ministry of this church.

4. Provide information that will enable the congregation to pray knowledgeably for missionaries and mission partnerships supported by this church.

5. Plan for and host an annual Missions Conference or similar event.

6. Evaluate current and future mission ministries and missionaries as needed.

7. Make recommendations to initiate or dissolve mission partnerships as needed.

8. Provide for short-term mission education and training.

9. Encourage and assist anyone qualified from this church to experience short-term missions.

10. Encourage and assist anyone qualified from this church in their pursuit of a long-term missions vocation.

PROPERTIES MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Properties Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, and maintain church properties and shall oversee and manage custodial staff.

MEMBERS: The Properties Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Properties Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Properties Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. The Chairman or another church member serving on the Properties Ministry Team shall represent the Properties Ministry Team on the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee proper cleaning and day-to-day operation and upkeep of church buildings.

2. Maintain church lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs, parking lots, drives and sidewalks, signage, external lighting.

3. Make provision for snow removal and rubbish removal.

4. Supervise custodial/maintenance staff or services.

5. Perform annual performance reviews of custodial/maintenance staff.

6. Provide for security of church buildings, grounds and all capital equipment.

7. Provide for maintenance of all capital equipment.

8. Make recommendations to the Church Leadership Team for new equipment and purchases.

9. Adequately store equipment.

10. Keep and update an inventory list of all capital equipment for financial and insurance purposes.

11. Secure insurance coverage for all properties including liability and vehicle insurance.

12. Provide for the routine maintenance, repair and purchase of church vehicles.

13. Project future needs for major projects in order to provide time for adequate financial planning.

STUDENT MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Student Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain Christian education for grade seven through grade twelve.

MEMBERS: The Student Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Student Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Student Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. The Chairman or another church member serving on the Student Ministry Team shall represent the Student Ministry Team on the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop, administer and coordinate a well-rounded student ministry, that may include Sunday School, Wednesday night activities, Bible studies, Trout Lake Camp retreats, service opportunities, music groups, graduate recognition and other special or seasonal events.

2. Develop a student ministry that is biblically and educationally sound and effective.

3. Review and propose curriculum ensuring that all material used is Biblical and in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this church.

4. Recruit and train leaders for student ministry programs.

5. Communicate with parents informing them of the purposes and activities of student ministry.

6. Provide students with the opportunity to reach out to friends and other students with the Gospel.

7. Provide adequate supplies and equipment necessary for various student ministries and programs.

8. Maintain accurate attendance and financial records for major student events.

WORSHIP ARTS MINISTRY TEAM

PURPOSE: The Worship Arts Ministry Team shall be responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain the worship arts ministry of the church in cooperation with pastoral and music ministry staff.

MEMBERS: The Worship Arts Ministry Team shall consist of as many elected individuals as they deem necessary to fulfill team responsibilities. The Worship Arts Ministry Team Chairman shall notify the Nominating Committee Chairman of the number of team members needed by September 1 each year.

CHAIRMAN: The Chairman shall display spiritual maturity and Christian character that reflects highly on the name of Jesus Christ and the reputation of this church. Whenever possible a Chairman for the next fiscal year shall be chosen by the Worship Arts Ministry Team at their October meeting and shall serve as Chairman if elected. The Chairman or another church member serving on the Worship Arts Ministry Team shall represent the Worship Arts Ministry Team on the Church Leadership Team.

TERMS OF OFFICE: Worship Arts Ministry Team members shall be elected for a term of two (2) years, approximately one-third (1/3) of their members being elected each year. They may be elected for a maximum of three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms. They may be re-elected after being out of office for one (1) year. Prior to being placed on the church ballot or appointed to complete a term, all candidates shall have their signed and completed Application for Position of Ministry reviewed by the Lead Pastor or his designee.

TEAM OFFICES: The Worship Arts Ministry Team shall select their own chairman and secretary. They shall also appoint one (1) team member to monitor ministry team expenses and upcoming budget expenditures so that the chairman may provide this information to the Church Leadership Team in order to ensure adequate cash flow. They shall report any team vacancies to the Nominating Committee as soon as they occur.

BUDGET: The Worship Arts Ministry Team shall prepare and submit a proposed Worship Arts Ministry budget for the following year to the Finance Ministry Team by September 30.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT: Worship Arts Ministry Team members shall develop worship arts ministry-related policies and procedures and submit for approval as needed. They shall perform an annual review of their Ministry Team Guidelines and the Policy and Procedure Manual section related to their team. They shall recommend any changes to the Elder Board by October 31.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Worship Arts Ministry Team Chairman shall provide a report of team actions and expenditures at the monthly meeting of the Church Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate weekly and seasonal worship planning with the Lead Pastor or Associate Pastor.

2. Select and schedule all music participants for worship services.

3. Assist pastoral staff to perform regularly scheduled evaluations of all aspects of the music ministry and make recommended changes.

4. Ensure that musical gifts are used to assist worshipers to honor and adore God during worship services.

5. Provide for decoration of the sanctuary and commons area weekly and seasonally.

6. Appoint head ushers and provide guidelines for ushering.

7. Select, schedule and instruct greeters.

8. Create all multimedia that support and enhance all worship services.

9. Make recommendation to the Information Technology Ministry Team and the Church Leadership Team regarding the acquisition and maintenance of musical instruments and other equipment.
